After conducting initial stakeholder interviews and workshops with sellers, content strategists, and SEO experts, one key challenge surfaced: the manual process of drafting, editing, and re-optimizing product descriptions to fit different SEO keywords is not only time-consuming but also repetitive.

Can AI add value?
Absolutely. By automating the product description writing process, AI can address the following needs:

To tackle this problem, we built a prototype that generates compelling product descriptions from minimal input:

  1. User Input: Sellers only need to type a single word related to their product and up to three keywords.
  2. AI Output: The system automatically produces a polished product description that seamlessly integrates the provided keywords.

Why Llama 3.1 405B?
We chose to build our prototype using Llama 3.1 405B, an open-source large language model with 405 billion parameters. This model’s vast parameter space allows it to handle nuanced context, varied writing styles, and maintain coherency over longer text outputs. Additionally, being open-source fosters community-driven improvements and keeps the solution more flexible for customization and integration into different eCommerce platforms.

User-Friendly Interface with Gradio
We used Gradio for its straightforward setup and intuitive user interface. Even non-technical testers were able to provide feedback quickly by simply entering their single word and keywords into a user-friendly web form.
